Hailing from Orange County California, Asylus formed in the summer of 2013 as a cumulative effort of a number of (now defunct) musical projects. Through multiple lineup changes, the band has persisted in their mission to create thought-provoking music that inspires, and conveys a message of what it means to be human, and above that, how to be a good person of sound morale and character.

Asylus consists of vocalists Nazaret Muñoz and Tyler Casanova, guitarists Jacob Ortiz and Erick Pastrana, bassist Davon Harper and drummer Mel Torres. They have performed at numerous venues across Southern California, including The Glass House, The House of Blues, The Observatory, Chain Reaction, and Soma San Diego. In additon, the band completed a run of shows in December 2017, spanning across Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.

Their most recent EP entitled "Clarity" showcases Asylus' ability to synthesize dynamic vocal abilities, intriguingly complex polyrhythms, and ferociously technical guitar sections, into a single well-written and well-received body of work.

The band has performed alongside nationally-acclaimed bands such as The Color Morale, The Word Alive, Slaves, Our Last Night, Like Moth To Flames, I See Stars, The Acacia Strain, Palisades, Sworn In, Upon This Dawning, Kublai Klahn, Vanna, Myka Relokate, Alive Like Me, Secrets, Dayseeker, Silent Planet, Out Came The Wolves, and Picturesque.
